Pedal: World MTB Champ and Canadian star, Roland Green, is racing with you
this week – how does it feel to have another Canuck on the team, eh?

Barry: It's good to have another Canadian on the team, especially Roland,
as we have done races together and at times trained together since we were
juniors in '92. It's also nice to have someone not pointing out when I say
“out” or “about” Canadian style – the right way!

Pedal: Have you been watching the Leafs? What are your predictions? Who
is your fave player?

Barry: Predictions? Well, I'm watching the game right now and hope they can
get to the next round.(note: the Leaf won so the series against the Flyers
and will go on to a seventh game). I am following the game on line these days.
Earlier, before we got interrupted by a team meeting, Dominque Perras
(iteamnova.com/Flanders), Rollie (Green, USPS) and I were at a bar accross
the street watching the game on ESPN2. They knew we were Canadians as soon
as we asked to watch the hockey game. Robbie (Ventura, USPS) and I were
naming hockey players on our ride today. He knows all of them from the
80's. It is pretty funny hearing names I had in hockey pools when I was in
grade eight.

Pedal: So is it fair to say that you miss watching hockey every once in
awhile as you're not often at home in Canada anymore?

Barry: I have missed hockey a lot the last few years while being in Boulder
or over in Europe. I miss the CBC – both radio and TV. And I really miss
playing shinny at the local rink in Toronto. I bug Dede about hockey all
the time and hope that one day we can shoot a puck around with a few kids.
That's a dream…
