Megavalanche and Sprint Avalanche Cup – Buchar 2nd and 9th

July 15, 2009 (France) – Canada’s Claire Buchar (Chain Reaction Intense) has been ripping it up in France placing 2nd at the Sprint Avalanche Cup in Oz en Oisans on Wednesday, July 8 followed by a 9th place finish at the Saab/Salomon Megavalanche Alpe d’Huez for women on July 11. The men’s Megavalanche race on July 12 was won by Remy Absalon (France) Commencal.

According to the Megavalanche website the event is… “For all pros riders and almost 2000 amateurs who want to go over their limits, the Megavalanche is so famous that any participants have to be respected. After the positioning races (Friday July 10th), the 400 best riders had been qualified for the longest down hill over the world, from Pic Blanc at 3,300 m… “
