December 2, 2009 – The Manitoba Cycling Association (MCA) is seeking a dedicated volunteer to act as our youth development coordinator. The MCA has identified youth development as a key priority in our strategic plan. The youth development coordinator will work with the provincial program committee and the Kids of Mud program to expand the cycling programming available to young cyclists across Manitoba including the development of a school cycling program. This position will be a one year trial position which may lead to a Board of Directors position in the future.
The youth development coordinator will ideally have a background in cycling. Experience as a coach, athlete or organizer would be an asset but the MCA will assist in training where necessary. For more information on this position please contact Ron Brown at info@cycling.mb.ca.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Develop School Cycling Program targeting high school athletes.
2. Work with Provincial Program to develop a talent identification system that bridges the gap from development to High Performance. Target ages 15 plus.
3. Recruit committee members to assist in the identified deliverables.
