Mathieu Toulouse Retires

November 18, 2008 – Mathieu Toulouse sent us the following note about his retirement from racing. We join cycling fans across Canada and around the world wishing him the very best in his future endeavours.

After a long reflection period, I have decided to put an end to my cycling career. While I am still passionate about cycling and will surely miss the exhilaration of competition, it has become clear that I am ready to move on. Winning an NMBS event this year was a great way to end on a good note. I will now take on new challenges, which include managing avelocoaching.com, a personal training company I recently co-founded, as well as heading back to school for a master’s degree, something I’ve wanted to do for years.

Many people have helped me during my career and I am forever indebted to them, but I want to extend a special thanks to everyone on Team Maxxis, who have helped make the last four years the best ones.

Cheers,
Mathieu Toulouse
