July 8, 2005 – Lost in the results from last weekends Track Nationals were the Masters Categories. Forest City Velodrome member Mark Goveia, from St Catherines won three National Track Championship Medals in The Master “A” division (30-39).

Mark set a blistering time of 1:12.3 in the Kilo, Qualified in the sprints at 11.8 seconds (over 60kph) then took out his competition in the sprint rounds to claim the Sprint Championship. The third National Championship came in the 20 km Scratch Race, Mark powered over the top of the group with one lap remaining caught the leader and pushed to the finish for the win. Congratulations to Mark for his outstanding performances. It will be great to see him in the National Championship Jersey when he races at the Velodrome in London.

Just a reminder that racing resumes this Saturday night at 7pm. London Track League as well as the Nas-track Madison League take to the boards for racing action.

Watch for information for the ” Oktoberfest Classic” a 9 day bicycle Festival at the Forest City Velodrome. Saturday October 22nd thru Sunday October 30th. Interested out of town riders should contact rob.good@ypg.com to find out more information & reserve you position in the program.
