July 15, 2017 (Milton, ON) – Renowned frame-builder Giuseppe Marinoni’s Best Hour Record attempt is set to take place on Saturday, Aug. 19 at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, Ont. with a screening of Marinoni: The Fire in the Frame at the Milton Centre for the Arts, 1010 Main St. E, on Friday, Aug. 18 at 7:00pm.
Marinoni’s upcoming attempt will pay tribute to his friend and associate, Canadian cycling legend Jocelyn Lovell, who passed away in June of last year. The film screening hosted by filmmaker Tony Girardin will honour Lovell and include a raffle for a Marinoni frame. Screening tickets are available online for $10 – link below.
In October 2012, Marinoni set the 75-79 age-group Best Hour Record at the Montichiari Velodrome in Montichiari, Italy. The legendary frame-builder who started Quebec-based Marinoni Bicycles, will attempt to set a new distance in the 80-84 UCI Masters Best Hour Record category. The world record to beat is an impressive 38.657 km held by Paul Martinez of France.
