Marc-Wayne Addison Resigns as Technical Director of Mardis Cyclistes

by John Symon
May 11, 2012 (Lachine, QC) – Marc-Wayne Addison, who has served as technical director of the Mardis Cyclistes presented by Jean Coutu since 2008, has left the organization according to a communication Pedal received from Addison, which notes that he hopes this is just an “au revoir” (until the next time). Addison is also involved with the new 9-stage Tour de la Montérégie.

Joseph “Tino” Rossi, who founded the popular criterium series in 1978, apparently remains in charge of the ten-stage event. The Mardis Cyclistes will hold their pre-season press conference this year on May 29; speakers include Lachine Mayor Claude Dauphin, Eric Laurence of Groupe Jean Coutu, and Rossi. Chantal Lacroix is the honorary president of this year’s 35th edition of the Mardis Cyclistes.

The first stage of the 2012 season will be held on Tuesday, June 5, in the Montreal borough of Lachine. The Mardis series are perhaps the most prominent crits in Canada. No news of the Addison’s departure has yet been posted on the Mardis’ official website (in French only) HERE.
