December 10, 2018 (Vancouver, BC) – DCBank has been a valued partner for many years with the current H&R Block Pro Cycling Team and will become the new Title Sponsor under a long-term title sponsorship agreement. The team will now be named DCBank Pro Cycling Team.
The team welcomes DCBank as the new title partner and will continue to help develop young talented Canadian and International athletes achieve their cycling goals and to also help grow the sport in Canada.Mr. Jeff Smith, President and CEO, “Over the past several years, I have seen the team evolve as a prominent Canadian amateur team to a UCI Professional Team. It has been a pleasure to see riders such as Rob Britton, Adam de Vos, Kris Dahl and many others take the next step in the sport through a program like this. DCBank is pleased to work with Mark Ernsting and his team at M1 Pro Cycling to help support the sport of cycling and our riders.
The riders will continue to be led by Team Director, Maxime Martin, who has been instrumental in guiding the riders’ performances and growing the team’s race calendar outside of North America into Europe and Asia.
Returning riders, Jean-Denis Thibault and Jure Rupnik, will continue with the team’s evolution. Thibault is entering his third year as a U23 and has continued to progress systematically over the past two seasons. Rupnik is an extremely loyal and hard-working rider who will continue to bring these traits to the team’s culture. The 2019 season will be an important year for both these riders as they look to take the next step in the sport with the team’s continued support and guidance.
The 2019 season will mark the team’s fifth season as a UCI Continental Team. The team will continue to take part in all of the UCI races across the United States and Canada and is already in talks with Race Directors in Europe and Asia to continue to expand its race calendar in these emerging markets. It is important for the team’s evolution to provide the riders with the right races for them to develop properly in the sport and this will be a priority for the DCBank Pro Cycling team to continue to evolve.
