Lyne Bessette Wins 2006 USGP Title

November 19, 2006 – Showing the consistency and grit that’s become a hallmark of her career, Team Cyclocrossworld.com’s Lyne Bessette won the 2006 Crank Brothers U.S. Gran Prix of Cyclocross title with her second place finish at today’s final USGP event, the Scion Stumptown Cup in Portland, Oregon. With five podiums in the six races, including a win in Gloucester, Mass., Canada’s Bessette won her second consecutive USGP overall with her third consecutive silver emdal ride.

“Winning the USGP was my goal for this year,” said a happy Lyne after collecting the winner’s jersey. “Sure, I wanted to win as many races as possible, but being consistent and getting the Series title was it for me. I know it means a lot to cyclocrossworld.com and to Stu Thorne, whose support and help made it possible in the first place. I’m just really happy.”
