September 3, 2003 – After a crash at the Nurenberg World Cup, many were fearful that one of Canada's top chances for a medal at Hamilton 2003 may have suffered a setback with only a month to go until the Worlds.
However, Lyne Bessette (Saturn) is positive that she will be ready for Hamilton 2003, “I'm feeling all right and should be back on the bike soon – the trainer of course,” Bessette said, “My husband Tim {Johnson} is taking very good care of me. I was very lucky, as first they thought my injuries were worse than they really are. My collarbone is broken but it is in line.”
Bessette was quick to point out that she is remaining very positive and hopes to put in a strong performance in a month's time, “my recovery should be fast and I'll be back for the Worlds – that's for sure!”
