Locked-Out Steelworkers to File Complaint with London 2012 Organizing Committee Against Rio Tinto

April 26, 2012 (Toronto, ON) – The United Steelworkers (USW) representing the miners who mine the metals that make up the Olympic medals and the locked-out workers launched a global campaign calling on the IOC to drop mining giant Rio Tinto.

The campaign has already generated thousands of letters of protest to the IOC and LOCOG and public events to get Rio Tinto ‘Off The Podium’ have attracted press coverage in the UK, France and Australia.

The locked-out workers from Alma, Quebec, along with former Olympian Bruce Kidd, will file the complaint today, Tursday, April 26, at 1:00 p.m. at the Toronto Steelworkers Hall.
