July 17, 2009 (Vittel, France) – American top pro rider, Levi Leipheimer (Astana) has been forced to pull out of the Tour de France. Leipheimer was fourth on GC before crashing on Thursday during Stage 12 and fracturing his right scaphoid, a wrist bone. According to the Astana website – “Levi Leipheimer is out of the Tour with a broken wrist.
