February 27, 2004 – Fans of Le Grand Prix Feminin international du Canada will have to wait until 2005 to see the top-notch international stage race, organizers reported today. They cited the proximity and overlap of Olympic preparation by Canada's top riders like Lyne Bessette, Genevieve Jeanson and Manon Jutras as reasons for the cancellation. The placement of the race occurred in the first week of August, which would conflict with most of the top rider's preparation for the Olympics, in Athens. However, 2005 should see the return of this late season classic.
