July 06, 2015 (Antwerp, Belgium) – Pedal‘s Chris Balogh was recently in Europe, visiting several legendary cycling brands including Lazer Helmets in Antwerp, Belgium, the oldest brand of sports helmets in the world according to their website. He looks at their Magneto system, which is an integrated helmet/eyewear system that uses magnets to attach the eyewear to the helmet straps. It also includes a neat eyewear docking station at the back of the helmet, plus we also get a look at their snap-on aero/rain/weather covers.
Balogh speaks with Tim Cornelis of Marketing and Sponsorship as well as with several other “brains” behind Lazer’s innovative ideas, like Avaro Navarra, R&D Director, who developed the Rollsys helmet retention system. There is also new “iSensor” technology in development that will see Lazer’s aero helmets outfitted with an electronic audio notification system that alerts the rider when the rider’s head position moves out of the ideal aerodynamic range – how cool is that?
