Landis To Appear Before French Doping Board

January 12, 2007 – Floyd Landis, the 32-year-old American who tested positive after winning the 2006 Tour de France, has been called to appear before the French anti-doping agency (AFLD) in Paris on February 8 according to an AFP report.

Landis, who is trying to clear his name claiming inconsistencies by the French laboratory which analysed his samples, will likely be represented at the hearing by one of his lawyers.

If the AFLD finds him guilty of doping it can only bar riders from competitions on French soil. According to the report AFLD president Pierre Bordry said, “The test on the B sample took place in the presence of three experts including one approved by Floyd Landis.”
