December 10th, 2004 – The Track World Cup at the ADT Event Center Velodrome in Carson, Los Angeles kicked off with the Keirin heats yesterday morning. It was exciting racing because riders not only contested each other but the new rules. The “no contact rule” is a new rule, which came in effect for the 2005 season. Despite this new rule there were still a few friendly nudges. The third heat was the fastest hitting a thrilling 66.1 km/h. Matt Chater of British Columbia, Canada’s lone representative in the Keirin held his own and finished third in his repecharge heat. Stay tuned for more.
