November 22, 2006 (San José, Costa Rica) — The organizers of La Ruta de los Conquistadores have just announced that registration for the 15th anniversary event is now open!

The coming edition of the “hardest race of the world” will be held November 14, 15, 16 and 17 which confirms that it will have four stages instead of three race days, which has been the format for the past 14 editions.

“Due to the success of La Ruta 06 and the fact that we have received lots of emails and requests, we decided to open an “early” registration. The 20% space allotted for the foreign field is already filling up and hopefully it will be completely full over the next few weeks. We also invited local riders to register as well so they won’t loose the chance of being part of the celebration,” said Diego Viquez, La Ruta’s Operations Director.

A total field of 350 non-local challengers is expected for 2007’s race. As for local racers, organizers are counting on a total of 300 competitors.

The same five categories have been established for the challenge. Open Men, Female, Master A Men (30-39), Master B Men (40-49) and Veterans Men (50 +).

The on-line registration is available at the La Ruta’s official Website, www.adventurerace.com. Complementary services registration (mechanics, transfers, massages, companions and support vehicles) have been opened as well.

The organizers will announce a few more changes for the event very soon, mainly the new day’s course and some changes for day 1 as well.

“Hopefully, the 15th anniversary edition will be a celebration of mountain biking,” added Viquez.
