March 9, 2006 – They say lightning never strikes twice, but apparently, it’s different for hurricanes. For the second straight year, Kona team Rider Fabien ‘Hurricane’ Barel has captured the Downhill Mountain Bike World Champion’s rainbow jersey, and Kona is releasing a limited edition run of replicas of his Championship Winning Stab Supreme to mark the achievement.

“Fabien has established himself as one of the greatest downhillers ever,” said Russell Carty, Kona’s European Team Manager. “We wanted to celebrate his accomplishment in a way we could share with riders everywhere, and the replica bike is a great way to do that.”

The replica of Barel’s World Championship winning Stab Supreme features the team paint scheme with World Champion rainbow stripes and comes with team sponsor decals in the parts kits for riders to apply or not as they wish.
