March 1, 2006 – The best-selling regional beer from British Columbia is coming to Ontario in style, and it’s packing a sampling of the West Coast lifestyle in with it. The Kokanee Konvoy left Creston, BC in the Kootenay Mountains today filled with glacier-fresh tasting Kokanee, BC snowboards, mountain bikes and the Kokanee Mountain Patrol, headed straight for the Ontario border.
Scheduled to cross into Ontario on Friday, March 3 at Kenora, the Kokanee Konvoy will stop in four Ontario cities before arriving in Toronto on March 8. Each city will celebrate the arrival of the Kokanee Konvoy with a ceremonial opening of a bottle of glacier-fresh Kokanee and a West Coast-inspired party at a local establishment. Upon arrival in Toronto, the Konvoy will travel down Yonge Street and make its way to British Columbia Road where the final cases of Kokanee will be unloaded and professional snowboarders will kick it into gear BC-style, showing their talents on a snowboard rail.
