October 13, 2008 – Austria’s Bernand Kohl (Gerolsteiner) has tested positive for CERA (Continuous Erythropoiesis Receptor Activator) as a result of the French Anti-Doping Agency (AFLD) retroactively testing blood samples from the 2008 Tour de France. Kohl finished 3rd at the Tour and won the Climber’s jersey as well. The news follows the recent positive test of Kohl’s team mate Stefan Schumacher from Germany.
