March 6, 2005 – Despite the lack of a marquee result,
the Kodak EasyShare Gallery/Sierra Nevada Professional Cycling Team had a
strong showing in today’s McLane Pacific Foothills Road Race in Merced,
California.
In a generally uneventful 120 mile race that was tightly controlled by the teams of the dominant sprinters, Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada co-captain Tim Larkin had perhaps the day’s most dangerous breakaway when he attacked with 20 miles remaining and held a gap of up to 1’15” before being caught inside the last 3 miles.
Glen Mitchell, Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada’s other co-captain, was the team’s top finisher in 14th place. “The team was really active in the last two laps,” Mitchell said, “and Tim’s move was really impressive. Kodak Gallery/Sierra Nevada definitely earned respect today.”
