June 6, 2006 – ExtremeRoad.com is pleased to present the nineteenth annual K-W Classic Road Race on Sunday June 11, 2006 in Kitchener, Ontario. This is race #3 of the prestigious Ontario Cup Road Series.

One of the most popular road circuits in Ontario, the classic Hidden Valley Road loop is the venue once again for this venerable race. The race course follows a rolling 4.6 km circuit featuring two climbs per lap plus a sharp S-curve leading into a corner at the top of the finishing straight, making for an exciting finish for both riders and spectators.

Cash prizes total over $3500.00.

On-line pre-registration is available at www.eventsonline.ca at a discounted entry fee. Regular entry fee prices apply if registering on race day.

On-line pre-registration closes at midnight Wednesday June 7.

New for 2006: The schedule has been modified according to new OCA guidelines for Ontario Cup events. Please note the new start time for all Women’s categories. There will be separate awards for Master A 30-39 Women, Master B 40+ Women and Senior 3 Women. Finally, please visit the OCA web site and review the April 28 OCA Newsletter as well as the May 11 Ontario Road Racing Communique for special instructions on number placement and other important new information for road riders.

Registration
Registration opens at 7h00 on race day and closes 20 minutes before the start of each race. UCI Licensed riders as well as Under-17 age riders with OCA Citizen Permits are eligible to register. Unlicensed riders may register by purchasing a One Event Race Permit for an additional $10.00. U.S riders with Domestic licences are required to purchase a One-Event Race permit. An OCA representative will be on-site to handle licensing issues.

Technical Guide
There is a detailed technical guide available in .pdf format on the web site and it contains complete information regarding the course, schedule, event and equipment rules as well as maps and a description of prizes.

Video Finish System
A video finish system will be used for timing and computerized results.

Race Numbers
Riders are expected to supply their own OCA-issued road race numbers. For those without OCA numbers, there will be temporary numbers available for a refundable deposit of $5. Please bring your assigned numbers to registration & sign-on. Please contact the OCA if you are unsure of your assigned road race number. Note: For some entire categories we may be assigning and distributing all-new race numbers for free on the day. We expect this will help with rider identification and speed up the results generation process. Please carefully follow the instructions for number placement in order to ensure correct and timely results. Numbers are to be placed on the right side this year — please ensure the numbers are not mounted upside-down.

Directions
From Toronto, take Hwy 401 west and exit at Hwy 8 to Kitchener. Take the Fairway Rd exit and turn right onto King St E for 1 block, then right on Fairway Rd. Go approx. 1.5 km then turn left on Wilson Ave. Go 0.5 km, then turn left on Goodrich Dr. Follow signs to Parking and Registration from Goodrich Dr.

From London, take Hwy 401 east and exit at Regional Rd 8 (King St E) to Kitchener. Follow King St E for 6 km then turn left on Fairway Rd. Follow the directions as above from Fairway Rd.

The race day long-range weather outlook for Kitchener-Waterloo calls for light winds and a high of 23 degrees.
