July 3, 2002 – With rain clouds looming in the background, the Joyride Biker Cross on July
3rd was a success. Although the race was on a Wednesday it drew tons of
spectators for a mid-week event. The atmosphere was laid back, full of
laughs and lots of fun despite the seriousness of the big names out to
contend for the title.
In the end it was Brian Lopes who took the race, winning $3,500 US for his
efforts. In the women’s event Anne Caroline Chausson from France won all,
giving the local girls some good competition.
