Joyride 2004

June 15, 2004 – Sun Peaks Resort near Kamloops B.C. boasts a World Class Bike Park with great
riding and facilities. The park here opened eight years ago and is renowned for
it’s long singletrack descents. This year, a new bikercross track built by
Joyride and a fresh machine-built trail will take the park to the next
level and everyone should check it out. Some of cycling’s biggest names have
confirmed their entry to this year’s event including 2003 defending champion
Gracia, and 2002 champion Lopes continuing to put Joyride on the annual
calendar of big bike events.

For 2004, Joyride will host demo days for the public to test bikes in a
bike park environment. Prize money is good, $10,000 for bikercross with a
Male Pro, Male Am, Female, and Junior categories. Joyride will also host a
dirt jump with some of the sports most talented jumpers – 2003 champ
Berrecloth comfirmed. This DJ event is invitational and the purse will be
$5,000.

Training is Thursday, July 8 and Friday, July 9 with bikercross qualifying
noon on Saturday July 10. The bikercross goes main at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, the dirt jumps
7:00 p.m. The cost will be $50 to race and registration is on
site. There will be BBQ events, a film premier from The Collective, and a
blow-out party Saturday night.
