January 16, 2007 – In a superior manner, José Hermida secured himself the title of Spain’s national cyclocross champion. After half of the race, Hermida managed to break away from the others, building a lead of 25 seconds to Isaac Suárez and more than one minute to Oscar Vázquez to the finish line. Thus in his first cyclocross season, Hermida secured himself the national championship title. Hermida is now concidering to start at the cyclocross World Championships in Belgium.

One week earlier, Ralph Näf finished sixth at Switzerland’s national cyclocross championships. All the other of the «Multivan Meridas Biking Team»’s athletes decided not to compete in cyclocross races.
