March 22, 2013 (Edmonton, AB) – As a member of the Marketing Team, the Community Relations & Sponsorship Coordinator will plan and manage the Community Relations program, including sponsorships, donations, community initiatives and promotional activities. This person will liaise with the Collectibles Department for all collectibles requests as they pertain to donations and/or sponsorships.

Position: Community PR & Sponsorship Coordinator

Job Responsibilities:
– Manages all administration for sponsorships, from tracking costs to yearly reports and recommendations for future sponsorships
– Ensures the Company has product for promotion give-a-ways and executes donations to the community in conjunction with the marketing and sales managers
– Responds in a timely manner to all general inquiries from the community for donations and advertising opportunities for the company
– Works with the Marketing Team to ensure that all sponsorships, donations and community activities are promoted via social media and advertising, both internally and externally where applicable
– Creates new ways for United Cycle to become involved with our community, including development of plans and supporting documents
– Liaison with the local professional sports teams. Responsible for organization and execution of player / athlete autograph sessions and maintaining these business relationships
– Develops the annual budget for donations and sponsorships for approval. Tracks requests and manages these budget accounts. Provides monthly account status reports, including YTD commitments and balance. Prepares monthly and quarterly reports recapping all donations and sponsorship activities

Job Qualifications:
– Diploma in marketing, advertising and/or public relations
– Two to five years related community relations’ experience
– Previous experience with professional sports teams is an asset
– Excellent written and verbal communications skills
– Excellent computer skills, including familiarity with all Microsoft Office suite programs.
– Experience with budgeting is required
– Energetic, enthusiastic, tactful
– Ability to negotiate sponsorships and ensure appropriate recognition for the Company
– Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in both a collaborative effort or individually to meet deadlines and complete tasks
– Previous experience with sponsorships and donation programs as well as sports teams is an asset
