Position: Chief Operating Officer

The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the Chief Operating Officer (COO) is responsible for maintaining the infrastructure and support systems necessary for the efficient operation of the organization. The COO serves as the “right-hand” to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and ensures that the CAC has the infrastructure and support systems required to meet its operational goals and objectives. The COO is responsible for, and provides leadership to, the following functional areas: finance, human resources, IT, risk management, strategic and operational planning, education partnerships, marketing and communications, and professional coaching services.

The Fit:
The ideal candidate will have a wealth of senior management experience with a university degree in business administration, finance, or commerce and ideally an accounting designation (CGA, CMA, CPA). In addition, the ideal candidate will have 5 to 8 years of solid senior management experience maintaining infrastructures and support systems in a complex, fast paced environment, in the sport, not-for-profit sector or business.

A big picture thinker that thrives in an environment that encourages ‘out of the box’ thinking, the ideal candidate will inspire confidence, and build positive relationships and partnerships at all levels. The COO will be a leader who consistently displays integrity and models our core values while building team culture. The COO will have strong business writing, presentation and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in French.
