March 13, 2009 – The Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport (CCES) is a national not-for-profit organization whose mission is to foster ethical sport for all Canadians. This Ottawa based organization requires a dedicated individual as soon as possible to join the team responsible for the CCES’ communications and marketing initiatives. This fulltime term position has an annual starting salary range of $45,000 to $52,000 plus benefits.

Position: Education and Communication Manager
Responsibilities and Duties:
Reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing, the Education Manager’s key responsibility areas include Communications, Resource Development & Production, and Partnership Development/ Capacity Building. Duties include the following:
Resource Development & Production
· manage the development and production of ethics in sport education resources and information products, including anti-doping education resources and information
· review and recommend revisions to existing resources and information products
· oversee and contribute to content development of program resources and information products
· manage production and distribution of updates and new resources
· manage the E-learning education plan in coordination with the communications team
· manage the Sport Centre Train-the-Trainers Program
· respond to client inquiries for education information and assist with other inquiries
· respond to general anti-doping and ethics in sport inquiries related to education
· prepare and give presentations
· manage the cross stream staff presenter training program (Anti-Doping/BodySense/True Sport) develop channels/opportunities for further distribution of resources/information products
· manage related contract service providers
· budget control of relevant budget accounts
Communications
· assist with the development of communications plans and implementation of communication plans as they relate to education information dissemination
· assist with the development and implementation of communication plans that help grow the True Sport Movement
· help develop content and approaches for effective communication using CCES education tools
· assist with media releases/media relations as required
Partnership Development/Capacity Building
· assist with partnership development and sport community capacity building relevant to ethical decision making and anti-doping
· help develop and maintain existing and new partnerships relevant to CCES needs and activities
· respond to/assist with sport community requests for help with resource development and capacity building relevant to educational initiatives
· represent the CCES at meetings and events as required
Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience
· post-secondary education in the field of education, communication, public relations, social science, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant position
· excellent English and French verbal and written communication skills
· excellent facilitation and presentation skills
· professional conduct, sound judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, team building skills, problem solving skills ability to work with little supervision, self-motivation, ability to give/receive feedback, program development/implementation skills
· organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, project management skills, time management skills, ability to coordinate multiple priorities, ability to independently produce final products/value-added results, ability to give presentations, ability to work in a team environment, resource development skills
· experience in a relevant position and knowledge of the Canadian sport community an asset
· proficient with word processing, data entry, email, the Internet, MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, Excel
Term of Employment: Full-time term of approximately 2 years

Salary Range: $45,000 – $52,000 plus benefits
