Job Opportunity at FQSC – Coordinator Off-Road for BMX, Cyclocross and Mountain Biking

December 26, 2014 – The Quebec Cycling Federation (FQSC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the development and promotion of cycling. Serving regional associations, affiliated clubs and individuals, it promotes the safe practice of sports cyclists and respect for sportsmanship. It defends and protects the rights of members and contributes to the fulfillment of its practitioners.

The FQSC’s mission is to develop the various aspects of competitive sport of BMX, cyclocross and mountain biking in connection with the four spheres of sport which are recreation, initiation, competition and excellence.

Main Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Director General, the Coordinator Off-Road designs, develops and evaluates programs in each of these disciplines (BMX, cyclocross and mountain bike), especially regarding the organization of events, training of trainers and Commissioners and the development of excellence. It produces and disseminates as such relevant documents, supports working committees and clubs affiliated to the BMX and mountain biking areas.

Organization (this part is the most important part of the job)
– Coordinate the entire competition schedule BMX, cyclocross and mountain bike
– Raise on an ongoing basis the organization of new events- Support organizations, ensuring compliance with established standards in Guides organizational and safety regulations
– Be present at a number of events as a Technical Delegate FQSC
– Administrative follow proofs BMX, cyclocross and bike mountain

Commission
– Raise on an ongoing basis to recruit new members BMX, cyclocross and mountain bike
– Coordinate the assignment of Commissioners for tests provincial BMX calendars, cyclocross and mountain bike

Coaching
– Raise on an ongoing basis to recruit new coaches BMX and mountain biking

Development
– Encourage and support initiatives promoting the widest possible participation in the tests BMX, cyclocross and mountain bike
– Give priority attention to the recruitment and development of young people in its work with the clubs in BMX and mountain bike affiliates
– Coordinate programs such as the Quebec Games and other specific BMX and mountain biking

Excellence
– Coordinate, plan and implement the Athlete Development Model BMX and mountain biking
– Vouch FQSC for all files related Excellence (Quebec team, scholarship program, LAI and LAI-BMX-VM) vis-à-vis partner organizations such as the MELS, Sports Quebec, Quebec Foundation for Athletic Excellence, Cycling Canada
– Collaborate in conducting training activities with the Bromont National Cycling Centre
– Vouch BMX and mountain biking areas for the Sport-Études program

Other Responsibilities
– Collaborate on the development of the budgets of BMX and mountain biking areas and monitor
– Support the various committees and committee BMX and mountain biking areas
– Analyze, evaluate, revise and disseminate technical content BMX, cyclocross bike and mountain
– Collaborate with other sectors of FQSC in achieving common goals
– Perform any task similar or general requested by his superior or necessitated by its function.

Desired Profile

Education and Experience
– University degree in physical activity, Kinesiology or equivalent, or training in another field combined with an outstanding track cycling
– 3-5 years experience in a professional function
– Knowledge of the competition BMX, cyclocross and mountain biking
– Fluent spoken and written French
– Functional English
– Good knowledge of the cyclist and sports Quebec environment
– Excellent control of common IT tools, social networks and Internet

Working Conditions
We offer a salary subject to a fair wage grid, a dynamic, flexible work schedule combining office work to field work.
