Job Description:
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Sport Director, the Sport Officer will assist the Sport Director in developing, planning and executing all aspects of sport to support the international bid. The Sport Officer will be responsible to conduct all necessary research to support this bid.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
“¢ Financial Responsibility- No financial responsibility; “¢ Impact/Complexity of Decisions- Independently evaluates and selects techniques, procedures and criteria; “¢ Uses professional judgment to manage and impact the outcome of projects; “¢ Responsible for the coordination and support of the Sport Division activities; “¢ Assist the Director with all facets of development, planning and delivery of items required for submission; “¢ Research as required; “¢ Ensure accurate and timely internal and external communications are delivered; “¢ Act as liaison between other functions and sport to ensure alignment of development, planning and delivery; “¢ Develop and manage a system that would align to Halifax 2014 Project Management system in order to meet all key timelines and deliverables. “¢ Provide administrative and technical assistance to the Sport Director and office; “¢ Liaise with the various sports’ association stakeholders; “¢ Manage the scoping activities as directed by the Sport Director; “¢ Coordinate all travel and accommodation requirements for sport-related stakeholders; “¢ Collect all specs for venues in accordance with IF/CGF requirements; “¢ Meet with all NSOs post letter of introduction; “¢ Establish sport technical advisors (sport contact per sport) “¢ Assist in venue audit/selection; “¢ Establish Sport Advisory Group (SAG); “¢ Refine sport plan/schedule with sport technical advisors; “¢ Assist venue development and design; “¢ Establish legacy program; “¢ Develop sport delivery strategy for Games time; “¢ Other duties may be assigned as required.
