April 4, 2007 – Triathlon British Columbia (TriBC) seeks an energetic individual to fill a Summer Events position. The ideal candidate is a mature individual with a wide range of business and sports experience, looking for a part-time position in the fast-paced sports field. The candidate will attend various Provincial events (May-September season) as a Triathlon BC representative, and may be called upon to assist the Executive Director / Board of Directors with various tasks for the organization. This is a part-time position, involving primarily weekend work, with hours of work as determined by a predefined race schedule.

Triathlon BC is the provincial governing body for the sports of Triathlon and Duathlon, and is a not-for-profit entity that is affiliated to Sport BC and governed by Triathlon Canada.
Responsibilities
– Attend various Provincial Race Series events, as outlined, representing the Triathlon BC Association.
– Verifying athlete membership status before and during the event weekend.
– Assisting in the distribution of promotional material on behalf of Triathlon BC at Provincial Series events.
– Assist in the handling and distribution of team uniforms and race series prizes
– When required, assist in the processing of membership requests and distributing membership cards.

Requirements
– Excellent english communication skills — both written and verbal
– Reliable and hard-working
– Valid BC Drivers Licence, credit card and reliable vehicle
– Personal computer with internet connectivity, access to and good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
– Canadian Citizen or Landed Immigrant
– Knowledge of sports system in BC is an asset
– Public Relations experience is an asset
