May 7, 2007 – The Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) is seeking to hire a detail oriented and experienced individual for the position of Financial Services Administratorfor for its Toronto office.
Reporting to the Financial Services Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and accounting assistance primarily for the Own the Podium and Road to Excellence programs.
This position will also provide similar back up support for the COC’s General Fund and the Canadian Olympic Foundation.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Funding Contribution Agreements “” Prepare cover letters and agreements including related schedules on behalf of all funding partners. Track status of executed agreements and reporting requirements and follow up with National Sport Federations and Canadian Sport Centres on outstanding reporting. Review submitted financial reports for compliance.
2. Accounts Payable “” Obtain and verify approval authorizations and verify expense reports. Enter invoices for payment and process payments weekly. Maintain Accounts Payable filing system and perform month end and year end closing procedures balancing to the General Ledger.
3. Accounts Receivable “” Prepare invoices as required and follow up on outstanding receivables to ensure timely collection.
4. General Accounting “” Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries and prepare and maintain balance sheet account reconciliations.
Qualifications and skills:
– Diploma in Accounting with a minimum of 3-5 years of related work experience;
– Experience working with Accpac (Advantage Series, 5.3A Enterprise Edition);
– Strong oral and written communication skills; o Attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects concurrently;
– Advanced knowledge of Excel;
– Intermediate knowledge of Word and Outlook;
– Self starter and ability to work effectively within a team concept;
– Background as a high performance athlete or Olympian preferable.
