October 21, 2012 (Utsunomiya, Japan) – Canada’s Christian Meier (Can) Orica-GreenEdge placed 5th behind winner Ivan Basso (Ita) Liquigas Cannondale at the 151km Japan Cup Road Race on Sunday with Daniel Martin (Irl) Garmin-Sharp in second and   Rafal Majka (Pol) Saxo Bank Tinkoff Bank claiming the final podium spot.
