September 5, 2006 – According to AFP the Bild, a daily newspaper in Hamburg, Germany, has reported that German cyclist Jan Ullrich (T-Mobile) was married this past weekend to his girlfriend, Sara Steinhauser, who he had been dating for the past year.

The religious ceremony, held in a secret location in the Alps, was attended by close friends and family. Steinhauser is the sister of cyclist Tobias Steinhauser, one of Ullrich’s best friends. Ullrich has a 3-year-old daughter from a previous relationship.

Ullrich, winner of the 1997 Tour de France, is implicated in the Operacion Puerto doping scandal.
