March 13, 2012 (Montreal, QC) – We wish to inform cyclists that the bike path, located on the West side of the Jacques Cartier Bridge, will reopen for the 2012 season on Wednesday, March 14 at 6 PM – a clear sign that spring is upon us.
A mechanical broom will cross the bike path during the day on March 14, to perform cleaning of the path before allowing its opening. A message will be posted on Twitter as soon as the bike path will be open after this operation, to allow cyclists to use it as soon as possible. A team will also be in place during the rest of the week to finalize the cleanup, but will not impede the passage of cyclists.
To celebrate this opening, please visit our Flickr Photo Expo with different angles of the path. The effects of light and shadow with the grilles offer magnificent views.
If you have photos of your maiden voyage in 2012, please send them to us: photos@pjcci.ca.
The Corporation wishes a good biking season to all cyclists in the Greater Montreal area!
