May 08, 2014 – The Vancouver Island mountain biking scene is flourishing with its very own events calendar that includes XC, DH, Marathon and Enduro events. So far this season, the Island has hosted four XC races and one DH (read our coverage here). Carey Mark and Thomas Skinner lead the Expert Women’s and Men’s XC standings with only one race to go in Campbell River on June 1. Mark won the latest round in Port Alberni on May 4 for the women, while Jamie Sparling took the men’s top spot. More info at www.islandcupseries.com.
