May 2, 2003 (Toronto, ON) – A report issued today by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) puts VancouverÃÂs Bid to host the 2010 Olympic Winter and Paralympic Games in a very strong position exactly two months before the host city is selected, the Canadian Olympic Committee said today.
“This report confirms the many strengths of the Vancouver 2010 Bid and validates all of the planning and hard work that has gone into producing this exceptional bid,” said COC Chief Executive Officer Chris Rudge. “This is good news for Canada since we believe the conclusions of this report will have an influence on IOC members who will select the host city on July 2nd in Prague.”
The IOC's Evaluation Commission today released its report following visits to the three candidate cities earlier this year. The three candidate cities are: Vancouver, Salzburg (Austria), and Pyeongchang (South Korea). Copies of the report are available on the IOC's Web site at www.olympic.org <http://www.olympic.org> .
