Interview with Michael Barry on his Retirement from Pro Cycling

September 12, 2012 (Montreal, QC) – Just prior to the GP Cycliste WorldTour in Quebec City on Sept. 7, Canada’s favourite cycling son, Michael Barry, announced his plans to retire from pro cycling at the end of this season effectively making the two Quebec WorldTours his final races on Canadian soil.

Barry, 36, hails from Toronto but lives in Girona, Spain, with his wife, Dede Demet Barry (a retired American rider who was a 2004 Olympic silver medalist) and their two kids Liam, 7, and Ashlin, 5. He’s had a colourful cycling career breaking into the pro ranks in 1999 and raced for Saturn, US Postal, T-Mobile Team, and Team Sky – read his retirement announcement HERE.
