July 22, 2019 (France) – Pedal caught up with Canadian Michael Woods (EF Education First Pro Cycling) on Rest Day 2 at the Tour de France for his impressions on the storybook start to his debut Tour on week one, followed by three crashes and two broken ribs during the second week. It’s been a tough Tour for the team as his teammate, Tejay Van Garderen (USA), who had to abandon due to a broken thumb. Woods is candid about the crashes, his recovery and aspirations for the remaining week at cycling’s biggest race, and his appreciation for the support from fans who have sent cards and letters wishing him well. He also talks about the rest of the season and the two Canadian WorldTours coming to Quebec in September.
