June 10, 2013 (Vermiglio, Italy) – Some Canadians headed to Italy early to squeeze in a race in Vermiglio this past weekend before the UCI MTB World Cup XCO in nearby Val di Sole on June 15. Emily Batty (Trek Factory Racing) landed on the podium in third only 1s behind national champ, Eva Lechner (Ita) Team Colnago Sudtirol, who won round #1 of the WCup in Albstadt, Germany. In the men’s race Evan McNeely (Can) Norco Factory placed 36th while teammate Andrew L’Esperance (Norco Factory) finished 53rd.
