Norco 2015
Norco’s newest platform for the coming season is the Search, under the adventure road category. More like an endurance road bike than a cyclocross bike, the Search frames offer little bit longer top tube and taller head tube than cross bikes but with wider 28-38c tires and mechanical or hydraulic disc brake options. The new Search comes in three carbon versions and three chromoly models. All of the carbon models use the same frame, whereas the Search A1 uses Reynolds chromoly, while the A2 and A3 use more conventional chromoly.

Norco’s endurance bike category sees the popular Valence get a new frame, as does the hot-looking Threshold in cyclocross race machine designed and developed on Canada’s Pacific Coast.

In MTB, the Sight and Range see new alloy versions, which elevates the component package but brings down the price point. The Fluid sees a 26″ re-introduced in an extra small size and a 24″ version premium kids bike added to the line.

Also, building on the success of the 2014 Bigfoot, there are now five  models of Fat Tire bikes ranging from $1000 to $2700 (for the bluto equipped version). At the top end is the Bigfoot electric, which is powered by the latest Bionx electro assist system.

Elite
This season’s exciting new trainer is Elite’s Real Turbo Muin, next generation trainer featuring an incredibly quiet, wireless home trainer with a direct drive fluid-dynamic and magnetic system to optimize transmission of power. Ellite’s Real Software technology creates realistic resistance and auto-adjusts to what’s on the screen, simulating outdoor training. And it’s compatible with Shimano 9/10/11 speed cassettes.

Elite also has two new entry level trainers, the Power Fluid Smart and Power Mag Smart. The Power Fluid Smart offers a 100% more resistance than a standard fluid unit. The system fits 24” to 28” tires and folds flat for easy storage.

The Power Mag Smart offers eight levels of progressive magnetic resistance with sequential selector and large 1.7kg flywheel. Both systems make use of an Elastogel roller to reduce noise and tire wear.

Along with the trainers, customers get a sensor and a coupon for six months for the My E-training App, which can be used with iOS and Android for, speed power cadence , HR, Conconi tests, real video, base training, training test, and course maps. Trainers start at sub $400 (no auto-adjust resistance).

Pinarello
The new Dogma F8 features brand new technology, including Torayca T1100 carbon, known as Dream Carbon, that is used in Dream Liner airliners. Pinarello claims it is the only bike company to have use of this carbon.

The Dogma F8 also has a new aero shape which was designed in conjunction with Jaguar engineers and Team Sky, to create a lighter, stronger, faster race machine while still maintaining Pinarello’s award-winning asymmetric design. The renowned Italian company also boasts the only frame in the world with 100% asymmetry from front to rear. Another unique feature of the F8 is that Pinarello decided to stay with Italian threaded bottom brackets, which Pinarello engineers say work better than any of the newer systems. The F8 is available for purchase as frame, fork, headset and seat post only.

Schwalbe
The big news around Schwalbe for 2015 is the ProCore system, developed in partnership with Syntace out of Germany. The ProCore system features a unique tube within a tube construction that’s design purpose is to securely lock a tubeless tire bead to the rim and prevent rim damage or burping from square edge hits. The system includes a smaller inner tube that inflates between 55-85 psi and and external rubberized fabric that inflates as low as 10-20psi.

The high-pressure internal stops square edge hits from causing tire to rim contact and damaging the rim. There is only one valve to fill both chambers (new valve core design). This specialized system is targeted at downhill and Enduro riders who run their tire pressures low. Can be run on any wheel with 22 mm internal or more width and still requires a sealant.
