Inaugural O’Symetric Grand Prix

July 7, 2007 (Quebec City) – On July 22, the municipality of Saint-Joachim (just east of Quebec City) will host more than 300 road cyclists for the first O’Symetric Grand Prix. With five races ranging from 65km to 130km in the schedule, organizers are planning a great event for riders and spectators.

The 8.5km circuit on Cap Tourmente Road will allow spectators to see the peloton many times. Both the start and the finish will be in front of the Saint-Joachim City Hall where everything is going to be in place and organizers hope to provide a great experience.

The senior men’s race, however, will finish on top of Avenue Royale. On the last lap, the men will continue on Avenue Royale instead of Trait Carré. Racers will then challenge a difficult 2.5km ascent over a grade averaging 7%. The steep sections of this ascent will surely open up some gaps in the peloton and provide an exciting end of the race.

There will also to be a Subway Sprint classification at mid-race.
