May 9, 2007 – SRAM has announced a safety recall of certain SRAM Force Road brake caliper sets. SRAM advises if your bike has a SRAM Force Road brake caliper set, stop riding your bike until you determine whether your caliper set is part of the recall. Some of the brake calipers may have been manufactured with a faulty mounting bolt, which can break. If it breaks, your brake caliper could detach from the fork or frame.
SRAM advises you check the date code on the brake caliper. If you have an affected brake caliper set, bring it to the bicycle dealer where you purchased the brake calipers or bicycle for a free replacement caliper set.
For more information, or if you have questions about this recall, call (800) 346-2928 or visit the SRAM website www.sram.com.
