IMBA Trail Care Crew 100K Pepsi Refresh Grant – Vote Today!

release by IMBA Canada

September 13, 2010 – The Trans Canada Trail, national partner of IMBA Canada, is in the running for a $100K Pepsi Refresh Grant to help fund the IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew. Please show your support for trails by voting today, and voting every day until Oct. 31st! If selected winner, the $100,000 would help to fund the Trail Care Crew program for 2011, and help to educate volunteers across the country on how to build sustainable trails.

Directed by IMBA Canada and sponsored by Parks Canada and the Trans Canada Trail, the newly launched IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew travels across the country in a 2010 Subaru Outback, giving workshops to IMBA clubs, Parks Canada sites, and Trans Canada Trail local, provincial and territorial organizations.

Fielded by a full time, two-person team, the Trail Care Crew educates Canadians on how to build sustainable trails, maintain and restore existing trails, solve trail management challenges, and to promote trails. For more information on the program, contact program coordinator Rachael.raven@imba.com.

Request a Trail Care Crew Visit
Please use our online application form to request an IMBA Canada Trail Care Crew Visit for 2011. The application deadline is Nov 30, 2010. When selecting Trail Care Crew visit locations, we consider many factors, including input from IMBA staff, IMBA representatives, land managers, past crew visits and IMBA members. We regret that we can not accommodate all visit requests.

If you have any questions, please email Rachael.raven@imba.com.
