Many folks leave winter cycling to diehards and XTREME CYCLISTZ, but first-hand experience with B!KE members has proven that winter riders not as extraordinary as they’re generally perceived. The people using the shop all winter long are regular students, commuters and parents who’ve made a key change in their normal riding: a little preparation.

Preparation is really, honestly and truly all it takes to ride comfortably and safely all winter long. For most, this basically involves:

– An extra layer (windbreaking is best)
– Studded tires – DIY or store-bought (or very knobby tires running at the low end of their pressure range)
– Common sense

Then SHAZAM!, you’re back out on the road riding as if it were a Summer day.
