April 12, 2013 (Toronto, ON) – With just over a week until the first race of the XCMarathon Cup the course is looking great! No Seriously! It is. The trails were clear of snow Wednesday morning and should be clear of snow and mostly dry by mid week. Thanks to the sandy base in the forest the trail is as a little faster if it is damp so plan for a fun single track ride for each 25k lap.
The course is being altered slightly to incorporate a second feed-zone walking distance from the Start/Finish . There will be a floor pump and some tools courtesy of Norco and lube from Finish Line along with water and fruit for riders as they come through at just past half way for the Half Marathon. For the Marathon riders there will be three feeds during the race, twice at the mid-lap feed and once at the start to the second lap.
After the race Finish Line has supplied a cleaning station so your bike goes home in great shape. Enjoy the post ride BBQ included for all registered riders and a clean bike
Being just one week before the first Ontario Cup race means this will be a great chance to test your fitness and new bike in race conditions, and possibly win an Apogee Leaders Jersey in the process.
Not sure how you will do? Not sure if you want the pressure? Don’t worry. The marathon “big lap” format means that you can race at the front of the pack or ride at your pace and enjoy some great single track with out worrying about being lapped.
Riding a Fat Bike? There will be a “demonstration” category at the H2i; the Fat Cat.

See you on the trail!
