Help Curt Harnett Find Lost Disc Wheels from 1988 Seoul Summer Olympic Games UPDATED

by Ron Johnson

November 15, 2018 (Toronto, Ont.) – Curt Harnett is on the lookout for a couple of lost wheels. The legendary Canadian track cyclist who competed in four Olympic Games for Canada and won three medals for his efforts, took to social media recently in an attempt to find the wheels off of the bike he rode at the ’88 Seoul Summer Olympic Games.

It is his intention to donate the bicycle to be put on display in the Cycling Canada Hall of Fame at the Mattamy National Cycling Centre in Milton, Ont., Home to the velodrome that was used for track cycling in the 2015 Pan American Games.

But, currently the bike is without wheels, an issue he is hoping to rectify via a crowdsourcing effort to track down a set that will fit.

“I want to donate this bike to the facility to have on display in the Hall of Fame area. My challenge is that I no longer have these wheels,” he said, on Facebook. “So I need your help in locating a set. Now, a beggar can’t be a choose but please keep in mind that the desire is to put this bike on display. So Wheels that are in good shape would be desired.”

He describes the track bike wheels as Campagnolo offset sizes (700r/650f) and not the top of the line Ghibli model but their Khamsin wheels. So far, 78 people have commented on the post and over 100 have shared it in hopes that something turns up soon.
