October 26, 2012 (Oro, ON) – The Hardwood Cross Race, to take place this Sunday, October 28, is part of the Ontario Cycling Association’s (OCA) Southern Cup Cyclo?cross Series, which is Southern Ontario’s main cyclo?cross series.

The course is a mix of grass, sand, hard-pack dirt, and double single track ski trails. There are 37 meters of climbing each lap with one flat barrier and two run-ups per lap. The course combines all of the elements of a great cyclo-cross course, including a couple of off-camber sections, plenty of turns as well as faster sections. It will test the skills of all levels of riders.

This sport has grown immensely in Ontario and is very spectator friendly as riders pass spectating areas every 6-8 minutes.
