September 04, 2012 (Barrie, ON) – Hardwood is having a cyclo-cross clinic on Saturday September 8th with Mike Garrigan. This clinic is a great chance to learn more about the fastest growing cycling sport of cyclo-cross from one of the best cyclo-cross coaches and riders in Canada. Mike Garrigan is the OCA endurance coach, is a former Canadian champion and has been racing cyclo-cross in Belgium as a professional for the past two seasons.
This clinic is for experienced or new cross riders and mountain bikes can be used if participants do not own a cross bike.
The clinic will cover riding position, mounting and dismounting, shouldering your bike, cornering, acceleration braking, riding in snow, mud and sand, climbing, descending, clothing and equipment, race tactics, starts, passing, pacing, training, pedaling and much more. The clinic will have you on your bike for bike for 3-4 hours so participants will need a decent level of fitness.
