August 29, 2003 – CSC leader Tyler Hamilton has made it official he will not be racing in a month's time at the 2003 Road Worlds in Hamilton. After a long season full of ups and downs, Hamilton will be another notable no-show, in the same company as Tour de France winner and  compatriot Lance Armstrong. With a season of injuries and also notable results like Tour Victories, a 4th overall, classics victory and more, Hamilton was certainly a favourite for the rainbow jersey. But Hamilton stated his  season has been long enough, and he will wind his 2003 down earlier, deciding instead to begin preparation for 2004.
